Community Health Centers

Get to know your clinics

Community Health Plan of Washington (CHPW) has a large network of doctors and clinics across the state. But we have a unique partnership with our Community Health Centers (CHC) that goes back almost 30 years.

CHPW was founded in 1992 by a group of Washington CHCs. They came together to form a health plan that shares their goal of providing access to care for Washington communities.

What are CHCs and why are they different from other kinds of clinics?

  • These clinics are part of the public health safety net. CHCs do not turn anyone away based on their ability to pay for care.
  • CHPW’s statewide network of 21 CHCs operates over 190 clinics.
  • No two CHCs are exactly alike, and you can get care regardless of immigration status.

CHCs offer a variety of doctors and services

CHPW works with 21 partner CHCs. These CHCs operate more than 190 sites where you can get primary care from over 3100 providers. In addition, CHCs provide access to medical specialists and some offer dental, vision, and behavioral health services.

CHCs offer services tailored to you

Because they are dedicated to serving the communities where they operate, CHCs can provide tailored services you won’t find at just any clinic.
