The goal of the Employee Mission Committee is to provide our employees with ways to participate in activities that further and champion our mission and values not only internally, but to our members and communities as well.

Our 2015 Activities

  • Community Health Plan of Washington employees volunteered 75 hours of community service time at the Real Change Homeless Empowerment Project "Feelin' Chili Holiday Social" featuring a delicious chili lunch served in bread bowls. 

November

 
  • Eighteen members of our Information Services and Technology department helped collect and create more than 1,000 Thanksgiving meal baskets for YWCA.

October

 
  • Community Health Plan of Washington hosted a Halloween party for a great cause! Thanks to a joint effort by the Employee Mission Committee, Events Committee, and Wellness Committee, the event included a spooky treat bake sale in which all proceeds go towards the purchase of supplies for Seattle's homeless population.

  • Susan Ginsberg, Lisa Cunha, Kim Smith, Christi Hart, and Donna Cole from our Human Resources department spent some time volunteering at the Northwest Harvest Cherry Street food bank.

  • Community Health Plan of Washington held its 3rd Annual Back to School Drive to provide school supplies for K-12 public school students.

  • Diana Jordan, Amy Lathan, Denise Page, and Deb Greer spent the day volunteering at Project Homeless Connect in Everett.

  • Liz Saunders, Mel Yeck, Jolanta Mackiewicz, Gabriela Middleton, Cynthia Malone, Samereh Giahi‐Long, David Rosenfield, and John Kohl from our Enterprise Projects team spent the day at the ACRS Food Bank helping to sort food.

  • Community Health Plan of Washington employees donated 314 food items and 64 pounds of rice as part of its Fight Summer Hunger Food Drive benefiting the Rainier Valley Food Bank.

  • Jonathan Irwin, Andrew Potratz, and Jesus Monroy volunteered at Country Doctor helping to keep the clinic garden beautiful and well maintained.

  • Manda Oien, Denise Page, Fran McGaugh, Sarah Stacy, Barbara Obena, Tyler Kight, and Lauren Pope from Medical Management volunteered at the Union Gospel Mission Homeless Shelter. They prepared and sorted food, and cleaned the walk-in cooler.
  • Deb Greer, Pam Cole, John Williams, and Rachell and Kenneth Jackson from Finance spent a day volunteering at the Friends of Youth luncheon with their children. They helped by decorating tables, directing guests to the ballroom, and cleaning up after the luncheon.

  • Dave Dickinson from Customer Service delivered more than 200 books to Valley View Health Center, as part of our Children's Book Drive.

  • Lisa Cunha, Amanda Klein, Heather Boetto, and Pam Sullivan from Human Resources volunteered at Treehouse. They helped sort clothing and other items donated for foster children.
